Friday Video: Merry Christmas – We take a holiday!

0 Comments 24 December 2010

Nicolai's bikes are amazing, too bad they cost an arm and a leg

It’s Christmas Eve today, if some of you lovely and/or manly readers are completely out of your minds or just unable to tell time due to some unfortunate OTB accident when you were a kid. In Finland, today is the big day of Christmas unlike in many other cultures where the 25th is the main event.

Since we’re no traditionalists when it comes to Christmas and we are pretty sure you have been bombarded by the holidays and its sounds, stress and everything else – we will spare you of all the Christmasy crap stuff and give you some amazing bike control and riding from Gates Nicolai team members Frank “Schneidi” Schneider und Marco Hösel, those gods of All Mountain riding.

Part 2:

On a lighter note, we noticed that we can’t reach 200 posts this year, so we’ll have a holiday instead. We’ll post some articles people have liked in Facebook and Twitter, but otherwise we’ll spend a week riding our bikes and trying to do the Rapha Festive 500 challenge of riding 500km during the Christmas week.

See you in 2011 and have a brilliant, epic and awesome Christmas with your friends and families!

About Comingthru

Coming Thru (or Coming Through - as that URL was taken) is a daily updated bike magazine - a collection of writings and links that relate to biking in its every form. The idea started from when Maarten met Markus decided to finally start collecting the things we like about bikes and talk about our everyday adventures in dodging moving objects at high speeds. The site is run by a collage of cyclists, most notably by Canadian Johanna MacDonald, Belgian Maarten Patteeuw and Finnish Markus Sandelin.

It all started in the spring of 2010, after a record breaking snowy winter when Markus bought a house 25 kilometers from the office and decided to handle the commuting with a bicycle. It turned out the bike wasn’t up to standards for that kind of stress and the first weeks were more tragicomic than glorious. Thus the idea began to brew to actually document this journey.
