Cycling: We have an agenda

Cycling is very much like football (the soccer kind) to me. Everyone can do it. It’s one of the most equal methods of transportation available to our species living on this planet. However, even being the capitalist I am, I realize that our cities and our culture has been evolving around the internal combustion engine. Sadly, most trips a person takes during his life are under five (that’s 5) kilometers on average.

Sure, things are a bit different in Finland where you might live up North in an area that looks and is a sparsely populated as Canada. I’m also sure there are plenty of other extreme examples where you seriously need a car or a jet plane for yourself, but most people live in quite urban environments. Most people who now can’t live without their own car were super happy to ride around in their bike when they were kids going to school.

If you have an opportunity to affect the world we live in, the chance to make cycling easier, safer and better for all, you have done a great thing. Please do it.
