Route: The landing zone tour

Since we bike mostly here in Finland, we have a few routes for sharing. As I got my bike back from maintenance yesterday, I wanted to take it out for a spin and a decided try one of the routes I’d planned with I synced the route to my Garmin Forerunner 305 (no, I don’t want to spend €500 on an Edge 705) and was off. I’d never biked there before, so having a GPS telling me where to go was very necessary. I rarely get lost with a car, but on a bike I manage to do that quite efficiently.

The route goes up and down in the first 10 kilometers, is quite smooth and flat for the next 25 and then back to “hills” in the last ten. The cool thing about this route is that it goes by our country’s main airport and even cooler, there are plenty of departing and landing planes which thunder over your head, looking and sounding awesome. It’s something akin to what a rabbit might feel seeing the shadow of a hawk above, since seeing a massive shadow glide on the ground touches some evolutionary fear reaction of a mega condor or something like that.
